YE$

i got the job at Noted !! starting october 29th. thank goodness.

here is an artist that i am newly in love with. the aesthetic is something that i aspire to, i love all of his whimsical creations. christopher bettig is a french artist who works with both product development, fine arts, graphics and media instillation. THE MOUNTAIN LABEL.

below are a few of my favorites:

from the 2004 solo show he's a mountain of a man at the 4x4 gallery in LA.

to the right is one of the mountain label's retail art installations of interpretations of the meaning of "speed." Chris took over 400 photographs of light while in motion.

from the show, there will never be any other time and place. i love these chickies, i want to get them as filler on my eventual half sleeve.

i love the details on this little guy, they are so charming.

some tunes.

the newest shins album has a great song on it called, red rabbit. the album has great artwork and the website is really creatively compiled - and you can view video's in their media section. i would also recommend checking out their image gallery, there are some really nice photo booth shots (the different one's with the four photo's arranged in a square, like i have experienced only in canada.)

ALSO: i really love this Japanther video//

check it out.

glass half full.

first. BKNY printshop didn't offer me nearly enough money to function and pay rent so i had to turn them down - BUT i had an interview with Noted*

it was a great interview, the owner and i sat there for an hour just talking about design, objects, products, trade shows etc. the office is in DUMBO, in a beautiful building filled with artist studios and galleries. i am going back on thursday to meet the rest of the team, which is a total of four people. some of my favorite products from Noted are:

a plantarium single vile for growing greenery. they are produced by Globus, and named plantarium garden lab kits which come in different sizes, shapes and colors.

titled, doomed. one of many by saka karakuri that are moving paper constructables - all versions are so endearing.

a diorama by tatebanko which comes as a kit that you put together. they are so very simple and pretty.

these are hole-on ex make and shoot pinhole camera's. these self constructed cameras that take instantly intriguing photos with just enough distortion to look artsy without much effort. in addition, they also have a great camera facade that is somewhere between 80's shapes and colors and a toy from the future.

in general, i hope this all works out - i would love to get my creative brain juices going again, giving imput on package design and product acquisition.

keep your fingers crossed for me, more later about diana fayt
